From
May 23-29 Rich experienced a fantastic fishing trip in Alaska with five
great fishing buddies (Ed Kabara, Dave Shenot, Al Meade, Bill Wedemeyer
and Clyde Thomas). We fished four days, catching all halibut. The weather
was very cooperative, and the scenery majestic. Total catch - over 1,000
pounds. Rich's personal best size fish - 138 pounds. Average number
of fish caught per day - about 50-60 (limit was 2 per person per day).
We kept holding out for the best quality fish. Total weight on our best
day - 542 pounds (12 fish). Average weight on our best day - 45 pounds.
Our outfitters were the Berg brothers (Rod N Real Charters --
http://www.rodnreal.com), and we stayed at their fishing camp on
the Kenai River in Soldotna (Kenai Peninsula).
